About the artist.
Tyla discovered her passion for design and illustration in 2020 and pursued tattooing as the natural next step, the place where drawing meets the body and stays.
By 2021 she had opened Storm Tattoos in Bryanston, Johannesburg, a private studio focused on bespoke, considered work in a city that rarely slows down.
Her practice spans three registers: micro-realism, fineline, and realism. She works alone, on one client at a time, by appointment only. Every piece is drawn for the person it’s going on.
